Most lenders ask for two forms of ID, such as your driver licence and Medicare card, plus proof of income like your two latest payslips or 90 days of bank statements. A rates notice or rental agreement helps too. Self employed? Low doc options can need less paperwork.

A car loan is secured against the car, which usually means a lower rate. A personal loan is unsecured, so it’s more flexible but normally costs more. If both could suit, we’ll show you the numbers side by side.
Not always. Many lenders offer finance with no deposit for eligible borrowers. Putting down a deposit or trading in a vehicle can strengthen your application, and your specialist can show you both scenarios.
A balloon is a lump sum you pay at the end of the loan. It lowers your regular repayments, but you’ll have a bigger final payment and pay interest on that amount for the whole term. Try it in the calculator above.
Yes. ABN holders often use a chattel mortgage, where the business owns the car from day one and the loan is secured against it. Your accountant can tell you how it affects your tax.
